What is Common Proficiency Test?

It is an entry level test for Chartered Accountancy Course. It is an objective test of four subjects i.e. Accounting, Mercantile Laws, General Economics and Quantitative Aptitude. The test is divided into two sessions of two hours each conducted for 200 marks.

Who can join the course?

A student who has passed the 10th standard examination conducted by an examining body constituted by law in India or an examination recognized by the Central Government as equivalent thereto may register for Common Proficiency Course (CPC).

DD to be taken for which amount?

  • If you purchase application form from ICAI branch and apply for CPT without any student journal then make DD for Rs 6000/-
  • If you do not purchase application form from ICAI branch and apply for CPT without any student journal then make DD for Rs 6100/-
  • If you want student journal {optional} on monthly basis then add Rs 200 to the above amounts i.e Rs.6200 or Rs.6300
  • If you want student journal and members journal {optional} on monthly basis then add Rs 600 to the above amounts i.e Rs.6600 or Rs.6700


  • Fill in the form given in the link:
  • Payment to be made by Debit card / Credit card
  • Make a print out of the application, affix a photograph, sign the application and despatch to the Institute within 7 days of online registration by registered / Speed Post to the nearby Regional Office/ Branch.

  • Documents to be attached with application Form

  • Demand Draft taken towards registration fee.
  • Copy of 10th standard marks certificate attested by Chartered Accountant / Gazetted Officer / Head of the Institution
  • Attested copy of Birth certificate IF not mentioned in 10th Marks certificate.
  • Attested copy of 12th marks certificate or its equivalent qualification as recognized by the Central Government, if passed
  • Attested copy of nationality in case of foreign students
  • Proof of special category certificate i.e. SC/ST, OBC and Disabled
